Olympus - Year of the Rooster Cotton Sashiko Sampler Cloth - White

This is a pre-printed piece of white 100% cotton fabric with a design of a rooster perched on a bale of rice for the Year of the Rooster. It's very handy for learning sashiko stitching.

Instructions are in Japanese but easy to follow. You can complete this cloth sampler with one skein of sashiko thread, but may choose to use more than one color for added contrast. The colors shown are a suggestion. You can stitch the design in one color if you prefer.

The fabric measures 13.4" x 13.4" (34 cm x 34 cm) folded in half and is printed with dye that will wash out.

This type of cloth is called a "fukin" (pronounced foo-keen), or little hand towel.
