Fujix - Cotton Thread Hand Dyed with Persimmon - #2 Kakishibu
Fujix makes the most beautiful threads, and here is a real treat. Hand dyed in Kakushibu (persimmon tannin), a traditional Japanese technique that makes rich wood-toned hues, these threads are perfect for working with vintage indigo cottons. They may be used for sashiko, but are slightly thinner than most standard sashiko threads.
Color #2 is a light blonde-brown. The last photo shows #2 second from the bottom.
Each skein is 20 meters long, size #6. Sashiko thread is closer to size #8.
Chojicha(Clove Brown)
Noble deep brown as dyed in fragrant clove broth. Favorite color of old kabuki player for kimono dress.
丁字茶(ちょうじちゃ)
丁字の木の煎汁で濃く染めて
出る、茶がかった色。
The last two photos show a sample pouch that Mickey Stockley made using 3 colors of this thread collection.
